Honey Bees

Honey Bees

Bystander Farm maintains a small apiary focused on supporting our gardens, orchard, and overall farm ecology. Our bees play an important role in pollination across the farm, helping increase fruit set, seed production, and the health of our flowering plants.

While our apiary is still developing, we are committed to responsible, sustainable beekeeping and look forward to offering small‑batch honey and wax products as our colonies grow.

Why We Keep Bees

Pollination & Farm Health

Honey bees are essential partners in our gardens and orchard. Their daily foraging improves vegetable yields, boosts fruit production, and strengthens the overall resilience of our farm ecosystem.

Ecological Stewardship

Maintaining hives supports local pollinator populations and contributes to a healthier environment for native bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.

Future Honey & Wax Production

As our apiary matures, we plan to produce small‑batch, farm‑harvested honey and beeswax products. These will be offered in limited quantities based on seasonal availability.

What We Plan to Offer

We do not sell bees, nucs, or queens. However, once our colonies reach harvest strength, we plan to offer:

Raw Honey

Unfiltered, unheated honey harvested directly from our hives.

Cut‑Comb Honey

Fully filled squares of edible honeycomb — rich, fragrant, and perfect for charcuterie boards, baking, or gifting.

Beeswax

Clean, golden wax suitable for:

  • candles
  • salves
  • balms
  • crafts
  • woodworking finishes

All honey and wax products will be listed in the Farm Store when available.

Current Availability

We do not currently have honey or wax products available. Seasonal availability will be updated here as our apiary progresses.
