About our small farm
Bystander Farm began with a simple box of day‑old chicks from Tractor Supply and has grown into a lively, diverse homestead over the past few years. Today, our mixed flock includes a wide variety of laying breeds, all watched over by our Ameraucauna rooster. With so many colors in the coop, our egg baskets look like it’s Easter every day.
Our goat dairy is small but productive, built around Nigerian Dwarf and Mini‑Nubian goats — compact dairy breeds known for excellent milk flavor and rich butterfat. We are proud members of both the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and the Miniature Dairy Goat Association (MDGA).
Our apiary supports the entire farm, providing essential pollination for our fruit trees, berry bushes, nut trees, and year‑round vegetable gardens. As our colonies grow, we look forward to offering small‑batch honey, cut‑comb honey, and beeswax products.
Beyond livestock and gardens, our blog shares personal stories, animal‑husbandry tips, recipes, and glimpses into daily farm life. By opening our doors and sharing what we learn, we hope to inspire others to embrace sustainable practices and appreciate the value of locally sourced products.
