I find a lot of interesting resources on the web for my various species and projects, and I like to share them when I can. Here’s a lit of free resources that I’ve found to be super helpful in learning about bees and beekeeping!
- Free short course on beekeeping from the University of Arkansas online. This covers all the basics in an easy to follow way and even provides printouts of all the material for you to keep. Worth a visit if you are just starting out.
- David Burns on YouTube. He is a certified master beekeeper through the Eastern Apicultural Society of North America and presents in a very beginner friendly way, but with so much information that even advanced beekeepers could learn a thing or two from watching his videos.
- Fred Dunn on YouTube. Cornell University Certified Master Beekeeper with a great teaching ability and bonus – he teaches about chicken rearing too!
- Mountain Sweet Honey. This is where I purchase my package bees when I need them, they have excellent quality bees, queens and equipment and are the most reasonably priced apiary provider I’ve found. They also host educational content on YouTube and several other channels that is informative, engaging and covers a wide range of subjects.
